Photo essay

This challenge was to photograph an event and take photos to help express the event. The event that i photographed was the Black History Month assembly that occurred at our school in late February. 
The picture that I chose to represent the assembly is a picture of John Daniels playing the piano. The piece that he was playing was a traditional African-American song. 

Architecture

Our challenge assignment this week was to take architecture pictures. I went to Staunton and shot some of the old buildings there from the roofs. it was a phenomenal day and the weather was awesome!

Tara!

two weeks ago the lovely Tara and I had a wonderful shoot in Darden Towe Park!! the lighting was perfect and she was awesome to work with!

Studio Shooting

After we learned about lighting in the studio, we learned about ratios between 2 or more studio lights. For this project we had to photograph three different age groups (child, teen, and adult) and figure out which ratios worked best for each age group. these are the results:

Lighting patterns

Flash is a controversial tool in the photography world. Most photographers either like it or don't  there really is not a middle ground when it comes to flash. For this challenge project we had to use the flash's in the studio and learn lighting patterns to best flatter our subject or control how we want them to look (ex. if you want someone to look dramatic you would use rembrandt or split lighting) Here is the final product:

For my midterm this year I had to pick an aspect of fashion and photograph that aspect with different models and integrate the use of hair and makeup, just a real fashion photographer would do. My aspect was Color Pop and this is the result:
